About the MC Podcast Builder
The MC Podcast Builder makes it easy for MC faculty and staff to store audio/video files that they create and want to make into a podcast.
For each podcast you create, this application will guide you through steps to:
- Store your audio/video files on the MC podcasting server
- Create an RSS feed you can link to from MyMC, WebCT, .edu, etc.
- Submit your podcast for display on the MC Podcast Directory (optional)
- Submit your podcast for display on Montgomery College at iTunes U (optional) - not live yet
Have the following information and files ready before creating a new podcast using this application:
- Summary information about your podcast (e.g., title, subtitle, summary, description, author)
- A cover art image (.jpg)
- At least one audio (.mp3) or video (.mpeg, .m4v, .mp4) file to use as your first episode (300 MB limit)
- Summary information about each episode in your podcast (e.g., title, subtitle, summary, author, keywords)
A note on terminology: Throughout this application, a podcast is referred to as a collection of one or more audio and/or video files to which users can subscribe. An episode is an individual audio or video file that is part of a podcast.

1:1 Assistance
Request 1:1 assistance with a podcasting project. Get help using the MC Podcast Builder and the recommended podcasting hardware and software. Or, if you have run into a problem with your podcast, bring your files and get troubleshooting assistance.

Workshops and Training Sessions
Search for upcoming podcasting workshops for faculty and staff in the Professional Development System (PDS). Recent workshop topics include: pedagogy and podcasting; how podcasting can revitalize your classes and change your life; basic podcasting for faculty; advanced podcasting for faculty.
Workshops are generally offered by the Center for Professional and Organizational Development and the Center for Teaching and Learning (faculty only).

Recommended Hardware and Software
The following hardware and software is recommended for PC users:
- TechSmith Camtasia Studio - video and screen motion recording and editing
- NCH Switch - audio file format conversion
- NCH Prism - video file format conversion
- Audacity with LAME .mp3 encoder - audio recording and editing
- Levelator - sound leveler
- iTunes - podcast directory, media player and podcatcher
- Headset
- Web cam
- Microphone
